Call Out for Emerging Artists.
Navigator North presents STABLE at Festival of Thrift 2016
We are looking for four emerging artists to work with Navigator North, Festival of Thrift and Steve Messam to create a new site responsive work as part of the Festival of Thrift 2016.
STABLE is a Navigator North curated space and art installation where the visitors can experience site-specific artworks and installations responding to the Stable Block and surroundings at Kirkleatham Old Hall Museum in Redcar, created by established and emerging artists from the North East as part of Festival of Thrift 2016.
Festival of Thrift celebrates sustainable living through creative cooperation and aims to create opportunities to demonstrate the value of the arts in building resilient & sustainable creative communities. Invited artists will engage with and draw out the specific narratives of Redcar & Cleveland, placing them into a wider national context.
Emerging artists will work alongside more established and experienced artists and arts professionals during this project to support their professional development – building valuable experience, connections and genuine sector specific skills to enhance their career in the arts.
Four artists will be selected from a regional call-out to create new work and be part of a group installation in an unused stable block on the Kirkleatham Estate.
We are looking for four emerging artists, living or working in Teesside and Co Durham.
The selected artists will each benefit from a bursary worth £2800. This will include £500, mentoring, workspace, technical support, equipment and professional support. Artists and their work will be profiled, documented and marketed during the project. To request an application pack email
