Fantastic weekend lots to do and see, some amazing upcycled objects ie the bags made from news paper and DJ box made from a porta loo . The food very tasty, the goat curry and the vegan cakes were delushious. So much creativity everywhere especially the design and the making of the fashion show dresses based on Redcar's SSI steel works. All in all nice sunny weather and a great location.

Well done to everyone involved in the organisation, hosting & participation of the Festival of Thrift at Kirkleatham, Redcar. I have never witnessed such fabulous activity in my home town. I was very proud that it was held in the beautiful setting of Kirkleatham Village. It was spread out over the whole village, which made it fun & interesting to wander around & be surprised with what you found next! It was packed with visitors who had many interesting & fun stalls to browse & purchase from. I loved every minute!

Just wanted to touch base and thank you for such an amazing weekend at Thriftfest, what a fantastic concept. We loved bringing our Gumtree upcycling bus and the feedback from those on it all seemed to be very positive which was great. Blimey the weather was kind to us!

I came on Sunday with my 11 year old son and we both had a brilliant day. His two main highlights were helping out at Jammalot, where the lovely people had plenty of time for him. He chopped up plums, weighed sugar and stirred and then at the end of the day there was a jar of jam with his name on for which of course we gladly paud. He was very proud, the Jammalot people really made his day. His other highlight was filling a bag for a fiver at Oxfam, he indulged his passion for hats big time! We enjoyed trying out activities better than shopping but the mixture was spot on. We'll be back, thank you.

My friend and I had a truly wonderful day out. I'm only sorry I didn't come on the Saturday too and also should've spent more time researching and booking on a few of the workshops in advance. Still, at least I know what to do next year to fully maximise this warm, friendly feeling the festival brought to me. Well done to all involved.
