Stella has a passion for bringing people and place together through shared creative experiences and has led festivals across the UK including Preston Guild 2012, Belfast Festival at Queens and Barclays New Stages as well as founding the region’s Enchanted Parks, EAT! Festival and Juice Festival as Director of the innovative culture 10 programme.
She looks forward to involving even more creative and thrifty individuals and organisations in 2018; especially the women as we celebrate one hundred years since women’s suffrage. She is keen on getting more people walking and cycling to the event and reaching out to the builders and techies amongst us as well as the knitters and weavers. She is particularly excited by the developing Viewpoints programme across the Tees Valley, as well as going back to the beautiful Kirkleatham site for the third year running as the Festival grows into place with its woods and fields and intriguing buildings.
As the eldest of nine, Stella knows quite a bit about making a little go a long way.
She said: “Being part of a big family also instilled in me the importance of not wasting resources: food and clothing or space! I believe that we need to try and live lightly, and ensure that we hand over the planet to our children in as good if not better shape than we found it.”
