This is something extra special. Developed for the Festival of Thrift by Simon Preston, our food guru whose BBC Radio 4 series The Town Is the Menu sees top chefs create a new dish inspired by their home town – Last year was Redcar now it’s Saltburns turn!
Book your place at the Saltburn – The Town is the Menu table in the Walled Gardens at Kirkleatham. There will be two specially created dishes on the menu – main course and dessert – which have been inspired by Saltburn, by its unique local character and the people who live there.
Simon will be out and about discovering Saltburn’s fascinating stories; its history, folklore, famous faces, tall tales and more. Then, local chef Luke Harding of the renowned Waiting Room at Eaglescliffe and the restaurant at MIMA will use them as inspiration for two new dishes that capture the spirit of Saltburn, on a plate.
Take your seat at our beautiful long table in the Walled Garden, get a taste of Saltburn cooked by Luke and his army of apprentice helpers, find out about the stories behind Saltburn’s new signature dishes and enjoy a stunning occasion accompanied by live music and performance.
There will be 2 seatings per day at at 12 noon and 2pm, each lasting up to an hour.
£6.50 deposit per person, diners will be invited to pay a little more on the day, should they wish to.
