Date: Sunday 24th September
Presented in partnership with National Citizen Service (NCS) North East, by V•Inspired and National Youth Agency
Wayne Hemingway MBE and NCS ambassador talks frankly to young people facing decisions about their next steps on route to work and the challenges they face. What’s best after school? Being an intern? Getting a job? Going to university? An apprenticeship? Setting up in business? So many possibilities, but how best to navigate the route and what skills and experiences will best equip us for the next part of the journey?
North East teenagers and NCS graduates have a different story to tell – come along, and find out what it looks like from their perspective and hear how volunteering and social action has boosted their CVs and employability, then share your own experiences of the world of work and building the skills you need to make those important next steps.
National Citizen Service (NCS) is the country’s fastest growing youth movement. 15-17 year olds take part in exhilarating challenges, make their mark in the community and build skills for work and life. NCS takes place during school and college holidays; find out more at NCSYES.CO.UK
