Get stuck in at Festival of Thrift 2024
Mark your calendars for the Festival of Thrift on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September, 9am – 5pm in Billingham Town Centre and John Whitehead Park. Celebrating its 12th glorious year, this festival is the perfect place for thrifters, creatives, and fun-loving folks to come together and get creative with sustainable living.
We’re looking for amazing volunteers who share our values and a sense of fun. Whether you’re a thrifter, grafter or DIY enthusiast, or simply someone who loves to help, we need you!

Your tasks will include:
Welcoming Attendees: Greet festival-goers and ensure they have a fantastic experience.
Signposting: Guide attendees to various performances, talks, and events across the site.
Supporting Performers and Speakers: Assist event managers before, during, and after performances.
Moving and Shaking: Help with site logistics, including moving furniture and setting up for guest panels.
Accessibility Assistance: Ensure all attendees can enjoy the festival comfortably.
Workshop Support: Aid artists with workshop prep and help attendees during sessions
Site Dressing: Help make Billingham even more beautiful!
We’re seeking enthusiastic individuals with a can-do attitude, reliability, and a sense of fun. Note that this role involves a lot of walking, but we can accommodate mobility needs if you let us know.

You will have access to refreshments, snacks and lunch in our staff and volunteer rest area. You can claim back travel expenses by keeping a record of your travel ticket or mileage.
