The Royal Institute of British Architects is a global professional membership body driving excellence in architecture. RIBA North East represents over 1,000 members and over 80 Chartered Practices across the North East, including Northumbria, Teesside, as well as many smaller market towns and villages. We educate, support, inspire and champion architects everywhere – to deliver better, safer, more inclusive and sustainable places for everyone.

We’re delighted to be back at the Festival of Thrift this year with a weekend of creative, hands-on activities celebrating architecture, design, and the North East. Our programme invites visitors of all ages to explore ideas, build and share stories about architecture and the built environment.

Throughout the weekend you can take part in:

• Crafts for Kids; Creative crafting activities designed to spark imagination and creativity.
• LEGO Workshops; A chance to design and build your own architectural creations using LEGO.
• Talk to an Architect; Drop in for an informal conversation with practising architects, whether you have questions about buildings, careers or ideas for your local area.
• Mapping Workshops for Young People; Explore and reimagine places through creative mapping activities.
