Tees Tidelands is a ground-breaking set of projects to help the River Tees estuary adapt to climate change. It aims to reduce flood risk, help nature recover & reconnect people with the estuary. It includes the Tees Tidelands Port Clarence project, funded by Defra as part of the £200 million Flood and Coastal Innovation Programme. Managed by the Environment Agency and led by Stockton Borough Council, it will drive innovation in flood and coastal resilience and adaptation to a changing climate.
