Woodland Tribe’s work empowers children to take control of their own play spaces and build their own adventure playgrounds. They encourage children to experience the freedom of making with their own hands and don’t believe in wrapping children up in cotton wool but instead trust young people to make their own risk assessments. At the Festival of Thrift, Woodland Tribe are inviting families to help construct a play structure of their dreams using hammers, saws, nails and plenty of wood. Children can also take part in the Make and Take workshop and use tools to make their own smaller creations from recycled wood, materials and other natural resources.
