We are delighted to offer our Sew Like A Pro Workshops on a regular basis. Led by Lindsay, she will teach you how to make clothing from scratch – everything from choosing material, pattern cutting, threading a sewing machine right up to the finishing touches.
We will provide sewing machines and all the equipment you will need. We will provide fabric and thread required to make your initial toile to check for fit. You will need to provide fabric and thread for any subsequent garments you would like to make.
These sewing workshops are suitable for all sewing levels but completing at least 8 weeks (2 x blocks) is recommended to beginners for learning the basics. Participants are welcome to keep attending classes for as long as they wish. Each new 4 week booking block will be made available for booking to current participants first.
Places are limited – 8 per session – so if you are interested, please book early to avoid missing out.
FAQ’s:
Please note that the only toilet available at the Festival of Thrift base is up one flight of stairs, without lift access.
During the day, there is a ground level toilet available at Drake the Bookshop, which is opposite the workshop venue. This toilet is not fully wheelchair accessible.
The workshop space is at ground level of the building, with a small step into the venue.
