Join SOW Northern for 2 alternating seed saving and seed sowing workshops.
During the seed saving workshop, you will learn the skills for successful seed saving including harvesting seeds, winnowing (separating seeds from chaff), and storing seeds for future use. You will work with crops such as pak choi, spinach, sunflowers, runner beans and tomatoes.
The seed sowing workshop will teach you how to sow fast-growing crops — such as pea shoots, broccoli microgreens, and mung bean sprouts — using recycled materials like grape trays, newspaper pots, and glass jars. Learn how fresh food can be grown year-round, even in small spaces, while reducing food miles, packaging, and costs.
