Look out for giant puppets that will lead you to Whippet Up’s hand-crafted puppet theatre. ‘For the People, By the People’ tells ancient and new tales from across the Tees Valley. New for the Festival of Thrift is a tale all about Billingham! The family friendly show includes songs performed live on set by Teesside’s rising folk star Amelia Coburn. Like all Whippet Up’s work ‘For the People, By the People’ is designed, built, and performed with local people who find, or are referred into, Whippet Up for a wellbeing boost. Whippet Up creativity and wellbeing work is supported by an Arts Council Project Grant, the Lottery Community Fund and RCBC.
