Come and join us for Easy Peasy! A workshop all about growing peas.

We’ll show you how to sustainably and affordably:

  • Grow outdoor peas
  • Make pea nets and wigwams
  • Grow indoor peas for pea shoots

There will be some Pea poetry from local poet and writer Dominic Nelson Ashley, as well as pea-related creative activities for kids to get involved in all things pea!

We’ll talk about Carlin Sunday — the day that Peas saved our Geordie friends from starvation. Share stories, memories and pea-related recipes.

We’ll have the infamous Sow Northern Seed Swap too, so if you’ve got any seeds to swap, bring them along too.

Everyone who comes along will go away with some planted pea seeds, the knowledge to keep growing peas and the option to join the pea growing community.

It would be great if you could bring along either some toilet roll tubes, or a container to grow in, but don’t worry if you can’t, as we’ll have some to share.

Easy Peasy!
